# Adding order row with order row type Discount to cart

What possibilities exist for **adding an order row with the order row type Discount to the cart**? For example, doing this manually as the result of some operation. The out-of-the-box order-level Discounts work this way so surely some mechanism exists to do this.
Our use case would be to add on-the-fly Discount rows that are not the result of a normal/static Litium Discount but instead have a dynamic discount amount.
