How do to temporary disable search indexing?

is it possible to temporary disable the search indexing in Litium?
We run a pricelist import that looks to make the index push litium to application restart.
Is it possible to disable the indexing while we a re importing and then trigger rebuild?

the *All methods will replicate the event to all servers in a multiserver setup.

During the time the indexing is stopped all the changed items will still be tracked and put into the index queue and will be indexed as fast you run the Start*() method.
