Should it be possible to map several files and images to the same pointer field with the product media mapper?

Display images mapping supports multiple files, but field mapping only supports a single file.

Is there a reason the propery is called “FieldImageMappers” if you also can map files that are not images under the same property.
Might just be legacy naming. The add-on is mainly for connecting images to products, but can be used for other types of files too if you allow the extension. This introduces some risk that a non-image file could be associated with the display image on a product if you’re not careful with naming the files.
