Is it possible to enable using blocks for the category page?

You can not create block directly in products for the category, but you can create a Category page in the websites that points the specified category and then the block from that page will be visible for the user when they visit the category.
Noticed that you can create a Landing page and in its properties you can point out a category and then drop blocks on the Landing page which will apear on the pointed category.
