Recommended products doesn't reflekt catogory order in BO

The order for productslist when in a category wont reflect the order in BO when ordering is set to “Recommended”. This problem appeared when changing the Display template “ProductWithVariantList” and “Product” Url from Product => Variant. Should the sortorder not work when this is the case?
