Problem: A b2b customer or salesman adds products to cart with company X1, then logout and login again as Company X2. The cart is saved but it’s the same cart as for company X1.
The setting “Save cart for logged in users” is enabled.
Question:
Is it possible to save the cart on the logged in organization level instead?

No, it’s not possible to get the cart stored on the organization.
Do you have any ideas on how we can solve this for our project? It’s very important for our customer.
The only way that I see today is to store the information outside the cart with example a modified version of Wish List (litium.com) to store the items for each organization.
In one project we used orders with a custom order state “OrderSuggestions” to handle a shared cart in a organization. An order can have both a person and organization connected and it is easy to move thing in and out of a order and to the cart. But if you can to upgrade to litium 8 then there is no custom states so you need to work with tags in that case i would presume and it could be other things in litium 8 that makes it difficult.
