We have two channels that share the same language and products. We want one of the channels to use a different url for the base products. How can we do this? The other fields should stay the same

It might be possible with some custom url resolver implementation…but this sounds like something I would try and convince the customer not to do.
What problem are they/you trying to solve, maybe it can be solved some other way?
The customer has products that, even though they are the same product in the erp with the same article number, are sold using a different name on one of the channels. They should essentially be presented as a different product.
We are currently solving the different name with an extra field for name, and will do the same with the images.
