Is it possible to create a pointer to inventory entity or would we need to create a new fieldtype?

In a project we have a use case where we want to consolidate stock levels from multiple inventories in a “Virtual Online Inventory”.

An example could be that the channel Norway want to show inventory from the inventory-locations Norway Oslo, Norway Stavanger, Norway Bergen (but not Sweden Umea and Sweden Malmo). So our idea was to have an inventory pointer with multiselect to “merge” the stock levels of the selected inventories to a combined virtual inventory.

Other ideas are welcome as well.

On a country under Globalization you can connect one or more inventories to that country.
If you can connect only one country (Sweden to Swedish channel, Norway to Norwegian channel) then this might work?

However, if you need the same countries on different channels then I guess you need something else.
